In the past it was generally felt that puppies under 6 months of age were not considered good candidates for obedience training. Given the training methods of the day, compulsion training, they were right. So much has changed since then thankfully, now our staff of dedicated dog behaviorist understand how puppies learn and when the best time is to start with your puppy learning some of these new skills and socializing with other puppies their same age.

By imprinting and handling puppies correctly you learn that some of these basic first steps will have a lifelong effect on your puppy making it much easier for you and your dog to go forward with advanced training or just making the ideal companion that the whole family will enjoy

The best time to start the imprinting process is between 8-12 weeks. At this age especially at the time when you bring your new puppy home you'll find that they are generally very eager to please you and are determined to find their place in the new home or pack.

It is far easier to begin to train your new friend while they are still in this very impressionable time.
